Im going to textual analyses one of the popular artist in Taiwan, his name is Show, also known as Alan Luo , is a popular Taiwanesesinger, host and dancer. The genre of music he sing where R&B, Hip-Hop, dance and Mandopop.
There were 3 re-releases (total 4 versions) of this album. There was also a special premium version released only in Taiwan. It had a limited run of 10 thousand, and included a SPESHOW phone strap and the album was autographed. Heres one of the version, this ablum released in November 17, 2006, the format where: CD,CD+DVD, the labe where AVEX is the holding company for a group of entertainment-related subsidiarie based in Japan, it sold 120,000+ in Taiwan.
From the Cinematography a Mid-Long shot of the singer to empathise his star persona, the use of colour for the front cover it uses grey to contrast his outfit (black and white) to make him standout form the photo. The reason it uses a long shot because his is promoting a clothing brand, to attract his fans to buy the cloths that his promoting. It uses image all over the CD cover, the reason for this because it mainly base on promot the artist and to empathise him in the ablum. The outfit Show is wearing is a black and white to show his mutuality.
In the cover of the ablum it uses a simple typography showing "SPESHOW" and a smaller front showing his chinese name "羅志祥", the reason why this ablum called "SPESHOW" because his english name is Show and by putting "SPE" in front of "Show" to make it sound like "special" to repersent his is special to his fans.
The iconography it uses in this digipak are the golden and silver bird, to indicated freedom, peace and pursuit of a golden bird by a king's three sons. The song was listed at the back of the CD cover using white to stand out from the artist images and make it basice and fashionable with his star persona.
In this digipak it has free gift for his fans e.g. a card borad of Show like a table decration and his autographed, by including this to attract fans, streaming audience to buy it, or aiming at people who like to collect artist gift.
Inside the ablum it has a booklet, inside it has his lyrics, images of Show, form the look of the booklet the photo are the one who mainly foucas on then the lyris, the size of the letter is really small. At the end of the booklet it has a little note from the artist writing for his fans and his lable company, by putting this small note to connote his fans club, to create the star images as being kind, nice to his audiences.
The booklet contant small promotion cards to promot his next event, and it include free download ringtone website at the back which gain more popularity. The design for his CD it uses the iconography which is the bird, to make it simple but memorable to audience, and uses a plain background to stand out the typrography.
